Getting more life out of your equipment

A proper refurbishment can add years of reliable service life to pumps and mixers that many people assume are ready for the scrap pile. We strip the unit completely, clean it, measure every surface, and identify what has worn and why.

Worn shafts, bearings, sleeves and hardware are replaced. Clearances are brought back to correct tolerances. Corrosion, scoring and surface damage are repaired. Seal housings are restored so the new or refurbished seal sits perfectly and runs smoothly.

Once rebuilt, the equipment usually runs quieter, uses less power and delivers much more stable performance. For most clients, a refurbishment works out at around half the cost of buying new equipment, with no changes to pipework or footprint.

A cost-effective alternative to buying new

Mechanical seals often get discarded far too early. In many cases, a leaking seal simply needs worn faces re-lapped, new elastomers, new spring pack or a set of new seal faces.

We refurbish every type of mechanical seal from any manufacturer, including component seals, single and double cartridge seals as well as mixer and agitator seals. The seal is dismantled, cleaned, inspected and measured. Wear patterns tell us the root cause of the failure, which lets us prevent the problem happening again. Seal faces are re-lapped to a perfect finish. Elastomers, springs and damaged metal parts are replaced. Alignment and tolerances are restored.

A refurbished seal performs just as well as a new one. In most cases, refurbishment costs around 50 per cent less than buying new, which saves significant money when you are managing multiple assets.
